parkrun stats

A weekly, free 5km run around a park? Are you sure? What?

Just sign up at the parkrun website, print off your barcode, turn up at your local run and off you go.

I started my parkrun adventures on the 21st March 2015, at Horsham parkrun, after completing 8 weeks of the NHS Couch to 5k plan. Since then, I've made some good friends, found a fiancée (we ignored each other at Kingston parkrun on NYD 2016), got fitter, lost weight and at times, I still enjoy running.

Current parkrun goals:

  • Get to 150 parkruns. This is due to happen on 10th March.
  • More tourism, next goal is 50 different venues.
  • 50 parkruns at Bushy parkrun - 49 so far
  • 50 parkruns at my home run Bedfont Lakes - 41 so far
  • Lon-DONE adventures - 21 London parkruns done.

parkrun achievements:

  • 50 Club member - achieved at Bedfont Lakes 16/04/2016, just over a year from my first event.
  • 100 Club member - Achieved this at Bedfont Lakes 01/04/2017, just over two years from my first event.
  • Cow Cowl member - 40 different venues so far
  • Volunteering at parkrun and junior parkrun venues, Bushy juniors, Chelmsford juniors, Bedfont Lakes parkrun
  • Getting my great neices and nephew running at Chelmsford Central parkrun, Chelmsford juniors and some tourism trips.

Running around a park, it'll never catch on.

Now into my third year of running around a park, I must admit, it is quite addictive.
